Job Description
Borkholder Buildings & Supply has been engineering, designing, and supplying buildings since 1962. By using our 60+ years of experience in the building industry and incorporating the principles discovered in the field of energy conservation, we continue to develop more efficient structures for our customers benefit. We are seeking a skilled Truss Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing roof and floor truss systems using MiTek software, supporting our sales team, and ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare accurate truss designs, layouts, and estimates using MiTek Software. Review architectural plans and specifications to ensure code compliance and structural integrity. Revise designs based on project changes, field conditions, and customer feedback. Coordinate the release of completed truss designs to the manufacturing plant. Communicate with customers & salesman to resolve design questions and issues. Provide technical support to sales staff and assist in developing project solutions. Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, customer service, and overall workflow. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications include:
1-3 + years of truss design experience preferred. Proficiency in design software, MiTek Software, or other design tools. Strong understanding of roof and floor truss systems and engineered wood products. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Job Type:
