Job Summary:

This is a hands-on, high-velocity CAD role for someone who takes pride in clean, standards-compliant drawings produced at volume and on an aggressive timeline.
Responsibilities:
Set up project design templates and produce conceptual site layouts that translate qualified sites with buildable areas into conceptual designs that identify equipment configurations (EV charging, BESS, and edge compute). Support Highland's external drafting partners, reviewing their output for quality and driving the weekly volume of completed layouts. Ensure conceptual layouts reflect the site constraints identified in qualification. Support the maintenance of Highland's CAD standards, title blocks, symbol libraries, and design package templates so drawings are consistent and repeatable across the portfolio. Support with markups, revisions, and drawing production through the 30% and Issued-for- Permit (IFP) design stages. Contribute to and maintain a repository of utility and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) drafting and drawing requirements. Quality-check drawings for completeness and adherence to Highland package content and structure before each internal approval gate and handoff.

Required Associate's degree in drafting, design, engineering technology, or a related field, or 3+ years of directly related professional drafting experience. Expertise in AutoCAD, with the ability to produce site layouts and civil/electrical drawing packages accurately and at volume. Strong attention to detail and a track record of delivering standards-compliant drawings on tight timelines. Familiarity with project management and drawing package review software (Procore, Bluebeam) and with GIS, parcel, or site-plan data.
