Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Designer / CAD Drafter with strong proficiency in CREO to support the development and documentation of mechanical systems and components. This role is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining accurate 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings in support of product design, development, and manufacturing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies using CREO. Generate, revise, and manage 2D engineering drawings in accordance with industry and company standards (GD&T, tolerancing, etc.). Support mechanical design efforts by collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Ensure all CAD data and documentation are accurate, complete, and properly controlled within PLM/PDM systems. Review and check drawings and models for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with design requirements. Implement engineering changes, updates, and revisions to existing models and drawings. Assist in the development and improvement of drafting standards, best practices, and workflows. Provide technical support for manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD design and drafting, preferably in a mechanical engineering environment. Advanced proficiency in CREO (modeling, assemblies, and detailing). Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience creating and interpreting 2D drawings with GD&T. Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems for document control and revision management. Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and technical documentation. High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field. Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, medical devices, or automotive). Knowledge of additional CAD tools or simulation software is a plus. Experience supporting prototype development and production environments.
