Structural Steel and Misc Metals (Commercial, Industrial) Job Overview JWC Steel Co., a Hartford-based fabricator specializing in structural steel and miscellaneous metals, is seeking a Tekla Detailer to join our Design & Technical Department. This full-time, onsite position is ideal for a self-motivated, independent, and goal-oriented professional with experience using Tekla Structures software. You'll play a critical role in developing precise 3D models that drive the success of our fabrication and installation projects. Key Responsibilities Develop accurate and detailed 3D models using Tekla Structures software Generate shop drawings and blueprints for fabrication and field use Ensure all models comply with project specifications, standards, and timelines Identify and resolve design discrepancies or challenges during the detailing process Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless execution Maintain version control and documentation for all modeling projects Review architectural and structural drawings to confirm dimensions and design intent Qualifications 3+ years of experience in detailing or modeling, preferably with steel or miscellaneous metals Proficient in Tekla Structures software (required) Strong understanding of mechanical and structural design principles Ability to read and interpret construction documents, technical drawings, and schematics Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset No specific degree or certifications required — proven skill and reliability matter most Benefits Competitive hourly pay: $35•50+/hour Performance Bonuses based on results Medical coverage stipend Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement for work-related travel Per diem for project-related travel Bi-weekly pay cycle Full-time stability with opportunities to grow within the company
