Job Title:
CAD Designer Job Description This role is crucial in providing design, field engineering services, CAD services, and construction management to support company goals in manufacturing facilities, processing lines, and infrastructure. The position involves preparing designs for equipment and processing systems ranging from general layouts to detailed designs. Responsibilities + Prepare designs for equipment and processing systems, from general layouts to detail design. + Manage drawings and documents to align with technical and business requirements while adhering to schedules. + Design plant layouts, equipment stack-ups, and demolition layouts. + Utilize design management systems such as Vault, Adept, and Windows, and manage these systems effectively. + Create and design P&IDs for process systems or utility systems. + Maintain process flow diagrams (PFDs), utility flow diagrams (UFDs), electrical schematics, layouts, and detailed drawings for production lines, building systems, and utility systems. + Conduct process analysis of new and existing technologies and systems. + Specify equipment and materials necessary for projects. + Review ergonomics, code requirements, and sanitation/GMP/food safety aspects of assigned projects. + Support and implement food safety practices as required by SQF standards. + Complete job duties supporting plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices. + Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and facility management on improvement projects. Essential Skills + 3+ years of experience with CAD in a manufacturing environment. + Strong expertise with design management systems such as Vault, Adept, and Windows. + Working knowledge of AutoCAD. + Ability to utilize Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Adobe Professional Suite, and Outlook. + Effective planning and organizational skills. + Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's degree preferred. + Experience in a food-related environment is an advantage. Work Environment The CAD Designer will collaborate closely with another designer, a senior designer, and a design manager. The role involves working cross-functionally with project managers, corporate members, and third-party vendors. The work environment supports both independent and team collaboration to achieve project goals. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lakeville, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
