CAD Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking a CAD Technician in Minneapolis, MN.

Overview:

This role supports a Minnesota-based engineering group by creating detailed CAD designs, primarily for gas-related infrastructure projects such as piping for apartments, commercial customers, gas meter installations, and above-ground work related to highways and roads. The position requires hands-on use of AutoCAD/Autodesk, attention to localized design details, and collaboration within a very small team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment
• Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
• Analyze technical implications of architect's design concept, calculating weights, volumes, and stress factors
• Build landscape, architectural and display models
• Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans
• Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data
• Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary
• Calculate weights, volumes, and stress factors and their implications for technical aspects of designs
• Determine quality, cost, strength and quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists
• Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects such as highways, sewage disposal systems, and dikes, working from sketches or notes

REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required
• Candidates should have an Associate degree in Architectural Design (or similar)
• Junior candidates with 0-2 years of experience are acceptable
• AutoCAD experience
• AutoDesk experience
• Detail-oriented team players The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
