What You'll Do As a Drafter supporting distribution projects, you'll assist engineers and lead designers in preparing high-quality drawings for overhead and underground distribution systems. You'll gain hands-on experience with industry standards, utility requirements, and CAD tools while contributing to impactful projects from day one. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing distribution design drawings using standardized drafting techniques based on engineer sketches, markups, and verbal direction. Develop and modify drawings for electric distribution systems, including plan and profile views, equipment layouts, and related schematics. Apply company, client, and project standards to produce accurate and consistent drawing packages. Compile initial drawings, calculations, and design information into complete models for engineering review. Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to understand design intent and project requirements. Incorporate engineering redlines and execute drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with drafters and designers across multiple disciplines to support integrated designs. Continue developing CAD skills with coaching, training, and exposure to advanced tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
