Job Description

Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Mechanical SolidWorks detailer/designer near the Pittsboro NC area Entry-level Mechanical SolidWorks drafter/designer for material handling and automated equipment. You will model parts and assemblies, make shop-ready drawings, and learn how this equipment is built and installed. Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn beat years of CAD experience. Responsibilities Build and revise SolidWorks 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings (parts, weldments, sheet metal, assemblies, install drawings) Create BOMs, balloons, hardware callouts, and revision-controlled packages Detail from sketches, redlines, vendor models, and senior designer/engineer direction Check drawings for accuracy, fit, and manufacturability Support material handling equipment: conveyors, transfers, racking, platforms, guarding, lifts, pallet handling Support automated equipment: frames, guarding, fixtures, mounts for motors, cylinders, sensors, and purchased components Work with fabrication, machining, purchasing, and assembly; walk the shop to verify designs Learn our standards, products, and ECO/drawing process Requirements SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings (school, internship, or job) Mechanical aptitude: fasteners, welds, bearings, sheet metal, structural, how things assemble Can read mechanical drawings Willing to learn material handling systems and automated equipment Detail-oriented, organized, good communicator Comfortable in a shop environment (PPE provided) Portfolio or sample drawings preferred Nice to have Drafting / MET / similar certificate or degree CSWA or CSWP Sheet Metal, Weldments, GD&T, AutoCAD Fab shop, machine shop, or intern experience Any exposure to conveyors, packaging lines, robotics, or industrial equipment
