Short Description Bowman has an opportunity for a CAD Technician/Party Chief II to join our team in Etna, NH. Purpose This hybrid position combines field surveying leadership with CAD drafting responsibilities to support accurate and timely project delivery. The role performs survey fieldwork; processes collected data and creates detailed CAD drawings to support engineering and construction projects. This position bridges the gap between field operations and office production, ensuring smooth communication and quality deliverables. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Lead and coordinate daily field survey activities, assigning tasks to crew members and ensuring work is completed safely and accurately. Serve as the primary liaison between field crews, project managers, and office staff. Maintain and care for survey instruments, vehicles, and field equipment. At the Operational and Company Level Field Survey Operations Conduct topographic, boundary, construction staking, and other land surveys using GPS, robotic total stations, and conventional survey equipment. Verify accuracy of collected field data, identifying and resolving discrepancies on site. Follow all safety protocols, maintain daily logs, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company requirements. CAD Drafting and Data Processing Import, process, and adjust field survey data using appropriate software. Produce clear, accurate CAD drawings, base maps, and survey plats in compliance with project specifications and company standards. Cross-check and verify survey data with existing records and design requirements. Do the Work Deliver work within established timelines and quality standards. Collaborate with engineers, planners, and project managers to ensure survey deliverables meet project needs. Assist in mentoring junior staff in both field and CAD processes. Strong technical skills in both surveying and CAD drafting. Ability to transition effectively between field and office work. Detail-oriented and organized in handling data and drawings. Commitment to becoming a "citizen" of the broader organization, breaking down barriers and silos. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certificate in surveying, drafting, or related field preferred. 3+ years of combined field surveying and CAD drafting experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey data collection/processing software. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. OSHA 10/30, CPR, and First Aid certifications preferred.
