Job Description

At Willbanks Design, we design custom cabinetry for clients who have decided their space deserves more than the ordinary. Every project is a collaboration built around how people live and the spaces they will gather in for years to come. Our showroom is in Summerlin, and our work spans kitchens, bathrooms, closets, and every space in between where design and daily life meet. The Role This role is the foundation behind every client presentation we deliver. You will work directly with our design team to translate field measurements and client direction into accurate, polished cabinet layouts, elevations, and presentation ready designs. The expectation here is precision, consistency, and speed. Designs need to be right the first time, ready before every appointment, and turned around without delay. The drafter who thrives here take ownership of their output, catch errors before anyone else does, and treat every file as if their name is on it because it is. Responsibilities From field notes to finished presentation, you own the drafting side of every project.
That includes:
  • Developing complete cabinetry designs in 2020/Flex from field measurements, floor plans, and designer direction
  • Producing accurate layouts, elevations, and presentation-ready drawings that reflect client requirements and company specifications
  • Completing revisions promptly and accurately following presentation feedback, client changes, or order corrections
  • Reviewing all designs against field measurements, floor plans, and order specifications before submission errors caught here do not become problems in the field
  • Maintaining organized and current digital and physical project files at every stage, accessible and up to date for the design team
  • Coordinating with designers on project timelines, revision priorities, and presentation deadlines
  • Supporting order preparation by ensuring files are complete, accurate, and order-ready before submission to vendors
  • Adapting quickly to updated specs, new product lines, software changes, and evolving workflow requirements
  • Assisting with the showroom, site visits, or filling in for designers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned What We Are Looking For This role belongs to someone who holds themselves to a high standard on accuracy, organization, and follow-through not just when someone is watching, but consistently.
  • Proficiency in 2020/Flex Design software. This is a requirement, not a preference
  • 2+ years producing cabinetry, millwork, or interior design drawings in a professional setting
  • Detail-oriented with a low tolerance for your own errors. You review your work before submitting it and you catch things others miss
  • Organized and reliable. You manage multiple active files simultaneously without losing track of revision status, deadlines, or pending changes
  • Comfortable working within an established workflow and following process without exception
  • Strong written communication for coordinating with designers and flagging issues clearly and promptly
  • Comfortable with technology including PC, Microsoft Office, cloud-based file management, and CRM documentation
  • High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a background check.
Preferred:
  • Experience with custom cabinetry, kitchen and bath design, or a residential design environment
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • NKBA-CKBD
    certification or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with cabinetry construction, door styles, finish specifications, and vendor catalog systems
  • Exposure to a client-facing design process even if your role was drafting side Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary:
    $37,500
  • $55,000 depending on experience
  • Paid holidays and PTO accrual
  • NKBA membership and professional development pathway
  • 2020/Flex Design software, professional-grade hardware, and cloud-based technology Schedule Monday
  • Friday 9:00 AM
  • 6:00 PM | or | Tuesday
  • Friday 9:00am
  • 6:00pm & Saturday 9:00am
  • 3:00pm What Our Team Would Tell You We asked the people already doing this work what they would want someone new to know.
The pace is real. Designers are in front of clients and presentations need to be ready before every appointment not close to ready. That means the drafting side of this role has to be disciplined and consistent even when the day gets busy. They would also tell you this team does not hide data. What is working gets shared. What is not working gets addressed. If a file is not going to be ready or a spec needs clarification, communicating early is not a weakness here it is expected. Taking thorough notes works. Flagging issues before they become problems works. Waiting until the last minute does not. How to Apply Submit your resume with a cover letter. We review every application. Those without a cover letter will not be considered. Your cover letter should answer two questions: Describe the most technically complex cabinetry or design drawing you have produced and what made it challenging. In a few sentences tell us why you believe you are the right fit for this role. Why Willbanks We design around the work itself the kind that requires real thought, genuine craft, and the patience to get every detail right before anything moves forward. Willbanks has been part of this community long enough to know that the projects worth doing are rarely the simple ones. Our clients come to us because they have made a decision about their space and they want someone who takes that decision as seriously as they do. The work spans the full spectrum of residential design each project shaped by a different space, a different vision, and a different standard of what finished should feel like. Every project begins from scratch and demands something original. The drafter who joins us next will contribute to those outcomes every layout, every elevation, every detail that makes the finished space possible. We are not looking for someone to fill a seat. We are looking for someone ready to contribute to something worth remembering.
