Job Description
Overview About kidandcad We design, engineer, and build custom playspaces. Our 21-person studio takes projects from concept renderings through fabrication and installation, producing furniture-grade millwork play environments for developers, schools, play cafes, and private residences. What we draw, we deliver. About the Role We're looking for someone who is genuinely fast in Fusion 360. You'll model custom playspaces, millwork components, and structural assemblies, turning design concepts into clean, buildable 3D models and fabrication documentation. You do not need an engineering background. If you have one, great, but what matters most is speed, precision, and fluency in Fusion 360. We will teach you the engineering. What You'll Do Build fast, accurate 3D models of playspace structures, millwork, and custom components in Fusion 360 Translate design concepts, sketches, and renderings into buildable models Produce shop drawings and fabrication documentation Revise models quickly through design reviews and client feedback Work directly with our design and shop teams so what's modeled matches what gets built Learn engineering fundamentals on the job: structures, joinery, materials, and safety standards for play environments What We're Looking For Expert-level Fusion 360 skills. You model quickly, cleanly, and keep files organized and parametric Strong spatial reasoning and attention to detail A portfolio or work samples demonstrating your Fusion 360 modeling Willingness to learn engineering on the job Able to work on-site at our Maybrook, NY studio. This is not a remote position Nice to Have (Not Required) Engineering degree, coursework, or work experience (mechanical, structural, or similar) Familiarity with millwork, woodworking, or fabrication Fusion 360 CAM or CNC toolpath experience Shop drawing experience Why kidandcad Your models become real.
