We are seeking a full-time CAD Operator / Geotechnical Field Technician to join our New York City office. The primary focus of this role is AutoCAD drafting, but the ideal candidate will also be capable of performing geotechnical field inspections at project sites in the greater New York City area. GEODesign offers strong growth potential and learning opportunities. Responsibilities CAD Drafting (Primary) Work with AutoCAD creating, modifying, and releasing drawings under direct supervision. Preparation of design and construction related drawings for geotechnical and support of excavation projects. Review and integration of interdisciplinary construction documents (architectural, structural, civil, survey, etc.) into geotechnical and support of excavation design drawings. Coordination of document filings with clients and various reviewing agencies. Geotechnical Field Work (Secondary) Perform geotechnical field inspections and monitoring at construction sites in the greater NYC area, including soil and rock observations during excavation and foundation work. Observe and document field activities such as test borings, soil sampling, load testing, and installation of support of excavation systems. Prepare field reports and communicate findings to project engineers. Ensure field activities comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and safety standards. Requirements Strong knowledge of 2D drafting software such as AutoCAD. Knowledge of other drafting software such as Microstation or Civil 3D is a plus. 1 to 2 years of drafting experience. Willingness to perform geotechnical field inspections at construction sites in the NYC area on an as-needed basis. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Solid understanding of CAD applications and best practices. Excellent time management skills and the ability to balance office and field responsibilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to travel to field sites in the greater NYC area; valid driver's license is a plus.
