Job Description:
DLZ Corporation has CAD Designer opportunities in Columbus, OH .
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform hands -on roadway and transportation design for ODOT and LPA projects Develop construction plan sets including: Horizontal & vertical alignments Profiles and cross sections Grading, drainage, and maintenance of traffic (MOT) Apply ODOT design manuals, standards, and specifications Produce CAD design using OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation and/or Civil3D Review and check drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards Assist with quantities, cost estimates, and design documentation Support constructability reviews and update designs as needed Mentor junior designers and project managers to support project delivery Coordinate with engineers and project managers to support project delivery Occationally support field visits and incorporate field data into designs
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (required) 5-12 years of roadway or transportation design experience Strong hands-on experience with: OpenRoad Designer/MicroStation and/or Autodesk Civil 3D Experience producing roadway construction plan for: DOT, municipal, or public infrastructure projects Solid understanding of roadway geometry, grading, and drainage fundamentals Comfortable working independtly on complex design tasks Strong attention to detail and communication skills Ability to safely visit project and construction sites when necessary
