Overview:
We're looking for a passionate CAD Artist who will be responsible for creating print, yarn dye, and embroidery files using in house design software (software programs to be researched/ determined). The CAD Artist would be responsible for design, editing and communicating all aspects of design development to in house team and overseas vendors.
Responsibilities :
The CAD Artist would be collaborating with the Design and Merchandising teams to create mutually agreed upon print, yarn dye and embroidery designs, so good communication skills, the ability to take direction and positive collaboration are required. Print development would include the ability to design allover prints, print repeats, placed prints, borders, textures, etc. Translate mood boards, sketches, and design briefs into accurate 2D CAD flats. Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies. Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process. Knowledge of printing technology, methods, and limitations is preferred.
Requirements:
Excellent design sense and aesthetic required. 2+ years experience utilizing CAD software preferred. Ability to create good color relationships/combinations, and pleasing print repeats. Understanding of shapes and how they relate to negative space. Strong expertise in industry-standard software depending on the sector (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop for apparel/soft goods.) Attention to detail: Meticulous eye for scale, measurements, color accuracy, and tolerance levels. Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, meet strict retail calendar deadlines, and handle last-minute design revisions. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Industrial Design, or related field. Benefits/Perks!
