Per Hour Contract Duration 5 month(s) This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Michigan. Position Summary We are seeking a CAD Designer III with strong expertise in Bentley Systems MicroStation to support a contract engagement focused on updating engineering drawings with post-construction redlines . This role is responsible for ensuring accurate documentation of record drawings ("as-builts") by incorporating field changes and engineer markups into finalized deliverables. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in handling complex drawing sets, and capable of working independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Update and revise engineering drawings using Bentley MicroStation based on post-construction redlines, markups, and field notes Convert redlined drawings into accurate record/as-built documents Ensure alignment with project specifications, drafting standards, and company procedures Review redlines for completeness and coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to resolve discrepancies Maintain consistency across drawing sets including layers, symbology, annotation, and formatting Manage multiple drawing revisions and version control effectively Perform quality checks (QA/QC) on updated drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness Organize and archive drawing files according to project and document control standards Support project teams with drafting updates as needed during closeout phases Required Qualifications 5+ years of CAD design/drafting experience , including advanced-level responsibilities Demonstrated expertise using Bentley Systems MicroStation (required) Proven experience incorporating redlines into engineering drawings and producing as-built/record drawings Strong understanding of drafting standards and best practices Ability to interpret engineering markups, field notes, and technical specifications High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting infrastructure, utility, civil, or industrial projects Familiarity with ProjectWise or other document management systems Experience working in a post-construction or project closeout environment Knowledge of CAD standards relevant to engineering disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical) Prior experience in a contract or project-based role Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in: Bentley MicroStation Strong working knowledge of: Layer management, cell libraries, reference files, and annotation tools Redline interpretation and implementation File management and version control practices Basic proficiency in: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Soft Skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines Effective communication skills for coordinating with technical and field personnel Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve drawing discrepancies Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements Associate's degree or certification in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation) The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $34- $42hr
