CAD Drafter/Designer

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented entry level CAD designer/drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and plans using various CAD software. This role requires a understanding of drafting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively. The CAD Drafter will play a crucial role in bringing design concepts to life through detailed schematics, 2D and 3D models. Paid starting at $16.00 to $18.00 per hour Job description This is a in office job at Medallion Pools' location in Colonial Heights, VA No remote work or work from home is available. Medallion Pools is looking for an entry level CAD designer/drafter. Medallion Pools is one of the fastest growing swimming pool manufacturers in the United States and our drafting department is growing. We are a family owned and operated business that was founded in 1960 and selling worldwide.

Requirements:

Self-motivated - able to complete tasks with little direct supervision Associates degree or technical certification in drafting, design, or related field preferred, but high school graduates with CAD backgrounds will also be considered. Able to create CAD drawings from hand sketches. Experience in Auto-CAD, Turbo-CAD, or similar software. Able to use Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel and Word. Able to use or can quickly learn how to use other design and CNC machine programming software as required This is an on-site position in our Colonial Heights, VA facility only. Experienced person preferred but if you have a basic knowledge and an understanding of Auto-CAD, Turbo-CAD or other CAD based drafting we will strongly consider you as well. Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and specifications. Create 2D models and visual representations of designs for presentations. Utilize Turbo-CAD, Fusion 360 and other various CAD programs for drafting tasks. Prepare schematics for mechanical design projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Review and revise drawings based on feedback from team members or clients. Maintain organized documentation of all drafts and revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in the preparation of project proposals by providing accurate drawings and designs. Skills Proficiency in CAD software such as TurboCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Fusion. Understanding of mechanical design principles. Experience in drafting schematics and technical drawings with attention to detail. Ability to create 2D and 3D models that effectively communicate design concepts. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot design issues as they arise. Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. An eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
