Overview Provide support to the Advocate Health Plant Operations and Maintenance (POM) team by creating, updating, and maintaining accurate technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, a computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role ensures that all drawings reflect current conditions and support planning, construction, maintenance, and compliance efforts. - 2. Responsibilities
  • Collect existing architectural and life safety drawings from Advocate Health hospital sites (POM) and the Advocate Health Planning Design and Construction (PDC) department. Some drawings will be made available via access to an Advocate Health SharePoint site.
  • Review drawing formats received as they will come from Revit, AutoCAD and pdf.
  • Review project drawings to determine the most up-to-date per each building section (architectural and life safety)
  • Consolidate the most up to date drawings into one drawing per floor per building
  • Export completed drawing sets to each facility site POM director and ask them to review and redline drawings for updates to include room numbers and room names
  • Collect redlined drawings from each site
  • Make updates to the drawings using AutoCAD
  • Organize drawings into layers (following the Advocate Health CAD standards)
  • Polyline each room, inside wall to inside wall, and link the room to the room number and room name
  • Upload completed drawings to the Advocate drawing management SharePoint site. These drawings will be considered to be the "master" drawings
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings and facility layout plans.
  • Collaborate with Advocate Health PDC, project engineers, project architects, and project managers to obtain all completed renovation and construction as built drawings in AutoCAD
  • Update the master drawings based on drawing updates received for each completed renovation or construction project
  • Send updated master drawings to each facility site POM director and ask them to review and redline drawings for updates to include room numbers and room names Collect redlined drawings from each site
  • Make updates to the drawings using AutoCAD
  • Ensure master drawings adhere to the Advocate Health CAD standards
  • Ensure each polyline each for each room remains intact, inside wall to inside wall, and each polyline is linked to the room number and room name
  • Upload completed drawings to the Advocate drawing management SharePoint site. These drawings will be considered to be the current "master" drawings.
  • Archive "old" master drawings
  • Organize and archive CAD files in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in space planning and utilization studies using CAD layouts.

  • Areas served by Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Location of shut off valves
  • Areas served by shut off valves
  • Update Campus maps to show the location of facility infrastructure equipment and connections for emergency portable equipment to include:
  • Generators
  • Chillers
  • Domestic Water Tankers
  • Medical Gases
  • Cooling Towers
  • Diesel fuel tanks
  • Transformers
  • Backflow preventors
  • Sewage man holes
  • Grease traps
  • Steam traps
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Support the integration of CAD data into facility management systems (for the following CMMS and BIM).

  • Revit
  • Walk Advocate Health site POM staff through how drawings are integrated with CMMS and provide technical support on maintaining links between drawings and CMMS and help sites find needed drawings. - 4. Tools & Software

  • Associate degree or certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in facilities or construction.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with building systems and construction terminology.
Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
