Job Description

CAD Operator IV - NuclearPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced CAD Operator IV to support engineering and design activities within a nuclear environment . This is a senior-level CAD position responsible for transforming initial or conceptual designs into accurate, detailed working drawings while ensuring compliance with established engineering specifications, standards, and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of CAD/design experience , strong experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD/Autodesk , and the ability to independently interpret engineering drawings and construction field revisions. Experience supporting high-voltage substation design and working within document management systems is highly preferred. Work Schedule Full-time, hybrid position 3 days per week onsite/in office Generally 40 hours per week Overtime may be available as needed but must be pre-approved Key Responsibilities Transform initial and rough product designs into detailed working drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Develop, revise, and maintain engineering and design drawings. Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications, standards, and requirements. Read and interpret construction field revisions and accurately incorporate changes into CAD drawings. Support drawing revisions, updates, and as-built documentation as required. Work with engineering and project personnel to clarify design requirements and resolve drawing-related issues. Maintain accurate drawing and design documentation throughout the revision process. Utilize applicable document management systems to retrieve, manage, track, and maintain engineering documentation. Apply extensive knowledge of CAD concepts, practices, standards, and procedures to complex assignments. Independently plan and execute a variety of complicated design and drafting tasks. Use professional judgment and experience to determine appropriate approaches to assignments. May provide technical guidance, direction, or leadership to other CAD/design personnel. Perform work requiring a high degree of independent judgment, creativity, and technical latitude. Required Qualifications 10+ years of CAD/design experience or related experience. Extensive knowledge of CAD drafting/design concepts, practices, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and revise complex engineering drawings. Experience interpreting construction field revisions and incorporating changes into CAD drawings . Ability to work independently and manage complex assignments with limited supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and established engineering standards. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, project teams, and other stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in a related technical or design discipline. Experience with MicroStation . Experience with AutoCAD/Autodesk applications. Experience supporting the design of high-voltage substations . Experience or familiarity with an engineering document management system . Previous experience in nuclear, utility, power generation, electrical infrastructure, or other highly regulated engineering environments . Previous experience providing guidance or technical direction to other CAD/design personnel. Ideal Candidate The strongest candidate will be a senior CAD professional with 10+ years of experience who can independently take engineering/design information and turn it into accurate, controlled working drawings. Particular value will be placed on candidates with a combination of MicroStation, AutoCAD/Autodesk, high-voltage substation design, document management, and construction field-revision experience . This role is well suited for someone comfortable handling complicated assignments, interpreting field markups and engineering revisions, maintaining drawing accuracy, and working closely with engineering teams in a structured project environment.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
