We're looking for motivated individuals who are eager to apply their drafting knowledge while developing expertise in the rapidly growing fiber optic and telecommunications industry. What You'll Do This position combines drafting with a wide variety of technical work supporting fiber optic network development. While a significant portion of your day will be spent drafting and designing in AutoCAD, you'll also gain experience across multiple aspects of telecom infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare telecom network designs and construction drawings using AutoCAD and specialized software. Support fiber optic permitting, utility coordination, and development activities. Review maps, engineering plans, permits, and project documentation. Collaborate with engineers, permit specialists, project managers, and field personnel to support project delivery. Learn telecom design standards, utility requirements, and industry best practices. Assist with technical research, project tracking, and design support tasks. Contribute to efficient project execution in a deadline-driven environment. What We're Looking For 1-2 years of drafting experience in a professional environment. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and a willingness to spend significant time drafting and developing plans. Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn new software, processes, and technical concepts quickly. Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to interpret plans, maps, symbols, numbers, and technical information accurately. Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude. Interest in engineering, infrastructure, utilities, telecommunications, or related technical fields. Most importantly, a willingness to learn the telecom industry and grow into a telecom design professional. Reliable transportation to and from our Austin office.
Compensation and Benefits Starting pay:
$18-$21/hour, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities available. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts. Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
