Job Responsibilities Create detailed 2D/3D fabrication and erection drawings using CAD software like AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or SDS2. Read and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints, specs, and rough sketches. Design accurate connection details, bolt patterns, and member sizes for structural steel frames. Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, and shop fabricators to resolve design conflicts. Update drawings based on field changes, reviews, and client revisions. Ensure all plans comply with local building codes and industry standards. Required Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in structural drafting software (Tekla Structures, SDS2, or AutoCAD). Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding, and erection processes. Excellent math and spatial visualization skills. High attention to detail to prevent costly building or cutting errors. Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, computer-aided design, or a related field (preferred).
