CAD & Laser Cutting Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CAD & Laser Cutting Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing precise digital designs, programming CNC machines, and operating laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in CAD software, CNC programming, and laser technology will drive efficiency and excellence in our production processes. Responsibilities Create and modify technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) Prepare files for laser cutting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Operate and maintain laser cutting machines Select appropriate materials and optimize cutting layouts Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy Troubleshoot design or machine issues as they arise Collaborate with team members on custom projects and production runs Help draw current production work and put into software for future builds. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, laser cutters, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment. Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA for designing and modifying parts. Knowledge of CNC programming languages and CAM software for efficient machine operation. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings. Hands-on experience with laser cutting machines (CO2 or fiber preferred). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Basic knowledge of materials (metal, wood, acrylic, etc.) Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Team player.
