Job Description
Keystone Construction is seeking a talented and experienced Architectural Designer to join our growing team. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in the design, development, and execution of residential construction projects from concept through completion. We are looking for a motivated professional with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for residential design and construction. This role involves creating construction documents, coordinating with engineering and construction teams, assisting with design modifications, and ensuring projects comply with applicable building codes and jurisdictional requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop complete construction documents and permit packages for residential projects. Create and revise architectural plans, elevations, site plans, details, and construction drawings. Coordinate design documents with engineering consultants, municipalities, and internal project teams. Review and implement building code requirements Manage plan revisions and ensure all affected sheets and details are accurately coordinated Provide support to field personnel during construction by responding to questions and resolving design-related issues. Conduct plan reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with company standards. Maintain organized project documentation and drawing records. Collaborate with estimating, construction, sales, and management teams throughout project development. Meet project deadlines while managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. Participate in the development and refinement of new home plans and design standards. Participate in the plan takeoffs in coordination with purchasing team. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of residential architectural design experience. Experience with single-family residential construction required. Experience working with production builders, custom home builders, or residential developers preferred. Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and wood-frame construction. Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit required. Experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Understanding of residential building codes, IRC requirements, zoning ordinances, and permitting processes. Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, and engineering drawings. Professional Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Adaptable, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
