Job Description

Camnetics MFG, an AS9100-certified aerospace sheet metal fabricator, is hiring a mid-to-senior CAD technician to convert legacy 2D aerospace drawings into accurate, manufacturable 3D models. You will work from scanned Mylar, microfilm, and vellum prints
  • many drafted before CAD existed, to superseded standards, with missing or conflicting dimensions
  • and reconstruct them as
SOLIDWORKS
solid and surface models with correct flat patterns and forming detail. This is reverse engineering from paper for parts that fly. What you'll do
  • Model legacy sheet metal and machined details and assemblies in
SOLIDWORKS
from 2D-only source data
  • Resolve incomplete, conflicting, and superseded dimensioning; confirm you are on the correct revision
  • Develop flat patterns with bend allowances and K-factors validated against our tooling and material
  • Support CAM, forming, and Quality with clean geometry, FAI ballooning, and MBD/PMI where applicable What you need
  • 5+ years of CAD in aerospace, defense, or precision sheet metal fabrication
  • Expert
SOLIDWORKS
sheet metal features, surface modeling, flat pattern development
  • Ability to read legacy drafting conventions and older
ASME Y14.S
revisions
  • Solid GD&T; practical knowledge of forming, bend allowance, spring back, and grain direction
  • Comfort making defensible judgment calls on incomplete or degraded source data
  • U.S. Person status (ITAR)

  • 1001000 DOE plus paid vacation, holiday pay, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and Simple IRA.
