Mechanical Designer /
Drafter Details:
Contract to Hire position $24.00 to $29.00 /hour First Shift Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using
SOLIDWORKS.
Develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly documentation, and exploded views for mechanical equipment. Apply GD&T standards and dimensioning practices to ensure designs are manufacturing-ready and accurate. Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, vendors, and suppliers to support fabrication and resolve technical issues. Update drawings and documentation based on design changes, production feedback, and engineering revisions. Mechanical Designer /
Drafter Qualifications:
Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related technical field or equivalent professional experience. Strong proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD, with hands-on experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings. Certified
SOLIDWORKS
Professional (CSWP) certification required or strongly preferred, along with a solid understanding of GD&T and mechanical drafting standards. Experience developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly documentation, engineering drawings, and manufacturing-ready technical documentation. Ability to interpret engineering specifications, collaborate with engineers and vendors, and support manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
