Engineering Manager Job Summary:
The CAD/CAM Drafter is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for engineering and manufacturing purposes using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software. This role involves working closely with engineers and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient design and production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models based on specifications and calculations provided by engineers. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives. Maintain and update CAD/CAM files and documentation. Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and company procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of CAD/CAM processes and best practices. Perform quality checks on completed drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support the engineering team with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CAM software. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
