Job Description
Job Summary Clark's Lumber & Millwork Inc. is seeking a career-oriented Commercial Millwork Drafter to join our growing team. This role is responsible for producing accurate shop drawings and production documents for custom commercial millwork projects. The ideal candidate has strong drafting ability, understands architectural drawings, pays close attention to detail, and is ready to grow with a stable, expanding company. Drafting ability is required for this position. Candidates should be prepared to complete a drafting skills test as part of the hiring process. What You Will Do
- Create detailed shop drawings for custom commercial millwork, cabinetry, and architectural millwork projects.
- Read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, and project specifications.
- Coordinate drawings with project managers, estimators, field measurements, and shop requirements.
- Revise drawings based on redlines, RFIs, field conditions, and internal review comments.
- Prepare clear, accurate drawings that support fabrication, finishing, delivery, and installation.
- Follow company drafting standards and produce work that aligns with commercial millwork construction practices.
- Manage drafting assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy. Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated drafting ability in commercial millwork, cabinetry, casework, architectural millwork, construction, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with project managers, estimators, shop staff, and installers.
- Willingness to complete a drafting skills test during the hiring process. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial millwork shop drawings.
- Experience working with fabrication shops, installers, or construction project teams.
- Understanding of AWI standards and millwork construction methods.
- Exposure to Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, or similar software is helpful but not required for this role. Who We Are Looking For
