Company:
This is a well-established, family-owned specialty chemical manufacturer located in the Greater Birmingham area; they've been around for 60+ years and have been steadily growing over the past several years.
Job Description:
This is a new role that will be joining a team of people in place and the overall focus of this group is automation of the chemical manufacturing plant. They use Rockwell PLCs and PlantPAx (Rockwell's DCS platform), as well as HMI and SCADA. This role will primarily focus on programming of control systems and instrumentation. There are two other process control engineers in the group and one of them is the group leader. So, mostly office work with occasional work in the manufacturing plant. This role will occasionally get involved with troubleshooting communication networks. Minimal travel associated with this role.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred 3+ years of post-college, chemical manufacturing experience is required (will also consider candidates who have worked for integrator companies). Looking for someone who has worked in PSM-regulated environments
