A Process Engineer solves problems related to the manufacturing and use of products, including chemicals, fuel, food, and clothing. Designs new products, improves existing ones, or develops new processes for better use of existing materials. May specialize in a chemical engineering process, such as making plastics, or in an industry such as health care.
The Process Engineer will be responsible for driving process improvement, root cause analysis and troubleshooting through the collection and analysis of data to enhance material/labor utilization output rates, set up times, and product quality. This position will coordinate both long- and short-term project identification and execution in order to achieve a facility's goals and objectives.
Pay Range:
85-125,000 depending on experience
Shift:
Monday thru Friday, either 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:330pm

Full Responsibilities:
Ownership of plant's primary processes. Ability to problem solve as well as plan, design, and execute empirical Design of Experiments (DOE) to ensure repeatability. Optimize process performance through the use of Operational Excellence and LEAN tools and techniques. Drive process improvement, root cause analysis and troubleshooting through the collection and analysis of data to enhance material/labor utilization output rates, set up times, and product quality. Define and achieve goals, objectives, and projects related to yield improvement, labor optimization, conversion cost reduction and product quality. Evaluate and recommend improvements, including cycle optimizations by working closely with process operators and the leadership team. Able to plan and execute trials to drive out waste and reduce variation. Ability to make process evaluations and make appropriate recommendations for changes. Contribute to the customer complaint process via root cause analysis, documentation, trials, and confirmation of effectiveness. Engage with customers and commercial representative to enhance customer satisfaction. Train operational, process, and quality staff on key engineering topics on an as needed basis. Lead projects through the use of standard project management tools and procedures. Ensure compliance to all ISO/IMS and Operational Excellence policies and procedures.
Requirements:
5 years thermoforming equipment experience, Or, a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Physical Sciences or similar. Required 5 years of Operations or Engineering experience (plastics related industry preferred). Required Knowledge of or experience with Lean-Six Sigma problem solving tools (Operational Excellence training, and/or Lean, Six Sigma, ISO certifications preferred). Required Ability or experience developing SOP's, operational and project reports, policies and procedures, checklist and Control Plans. Required Budget administration and financial reporting experience. Preferred SAP or other ERP experience. Preferred Leadership experience or ability to train personnel.
