- 47420) 93000-165000 / US Dollars / Annual Salary NPAworldwide Recruitment Network update Last updated: Jul/28/2026 Job Description My client has an opportunity at their refinery in the San Francisco Bay, CA area seeking a talented Process Engineer to join our team as pivotal member that would play a key role.
Job Responsibilities May Include:
- Use technical knowledge to review, monitor, and respond to process operations in order to:
- identify potential underlying process safety concerns
- meet production and quality targets
- optimize unit performance and yields
- relieve constraints, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses
- Provide support for non-routine events including turnarounds, maintenance, troubleshooting, and projects
- Support the change management process through evaluation of operational and equipment modifications
- Interface with internal departments and external resources to provide unit support and identify opportunities
Position Specific Requirements:
- Available in off hours and days to respond to refinery issues or emergencies, including on-call emergency response functions.
- Mix of computer-based office work and field inspection and testing in refinery plant units
Physical Requirements:
- Climb ladders
- Walk up and down steps
- Lift 50 pounds

Work Schedule:
- Occasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds)
