  • 47420) 93000-165000 / US Dollars / Annual Salary NPAworldwide Recruitment Network update Last updated: Jul/28/2026 Job Description My client has an opportunity at their refinery in the San Francisco Bay, CA area seeking a talented Process Engineer to join our team as pivotal member that would play a key role.
Process Engineers optimize unit performance to meet the refinery's, safety, environmental, and economic objectives. They provide technical support for the operating units; which includes day-to-day and non-routine activities, process optimization, and continuous improvement. Process Engineers are assigned to and work closely with their operations department, while reporting directly to the Process Engineering Group.
Job Responsibilities May Include:
  • Use technical knowledge to review, monitor, and respond to process operations in order to:
  • identify potential underlying process safety concerns
  • meet production and quality targets
  • optimize unit performance and yields
  • relieve constraints, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses
  • Provide support for non-routine events including turnarounds, maintenance, troubleshooting, and projects
  • Support the change management process through evaluation of operational and equipment modifications
  • Interface with internal departments and external resources to provide unit support and identify opportunities
Position Specific Requirements:
  • Available in off hours and days to respond to refinery issues or emergencies, including on-call emergency response functions.
  • Mix of computer-based office work and field inspection and testing in refinery plant units
