POSITION OVERVIEW
- The Accelerator Directorate Cryogenic Division at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking a Controls Engineer to support the development, operation, and reliability of cryogenic control systems and associated software for the LCLS-II Cryogenic Plant (2.
- Specific Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- + Develop and maintain cryogenic control systems and operator interfaces + Support controls network, including maintenance, troubleshooting and outage planning + Develop software tools and utilities for process operations, monitoring, and diagnostics + Integrate software and automation platforms with cryogenic equipment and infrastructure + Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of process control systems + Evaluate and incorporate modern software practices and AI-enabled tools where appropriate + Collaborate with process engineering, IT, and operations teams to improve system performance and reliability + Develop engineering design, procedures, and training materials + Establish and maintain standards for control system architecture, cybersecurity, and operational reliability •
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- + BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field + At least two years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: + Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in both software and control systems + Ability to summarize and communicate technical information clearly and concisely + Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international environment •

Regular Continuing _The expected pay range for this position is $117,623 to $164,965 per annum. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire.
