Job Description

Position Summary The Process Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role plays a critical part in the optimization of pulp and paper production systems and supports continuous improvement initiatives throughout the mill. Job Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to)
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Implement process improvements that increase throughput, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and troubleshoot process deviations.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Lead and support capital and process improvement projects from conception through implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to assess process performance and generate reports for management.
  • Provide technical support, development of SOP's and training to operations staff.
  • Stay current on modern technologies and industry best practices.
  • Interact with chemical, clothing, and equipment vendors for process improvement.
  • Support operations by learning other roles in the organization for future advancement. Education, Certifications, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, pulp and paper science, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the pulp and paper industry.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Skills and Competencies
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a paper mill environment which may involve exposure to noise, temperature variations (cold, heat, and humidity), dust, and chemicals.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and climb ladders/stairs.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay:
$80,000.00
