Process Engineer A dynamic, growing manufacturing operation is looking for a hands-on, floor-focused Process Engineer to join the engineering team. This entry-to-mid-level role is ideal for an ambitious engineer who enjoys working directly on the production floor, optimizing manufacturing processes, and solving real-time operational challenges alongside technicians and operators. This position focuses on process setup, cycle time optimization, and floor execution, making it a great step for someone looking to build a strong foundation in high-precision manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily plant floor operations by monitoring production lines, troubleshooting process variations, and ensuring stable manufacturing conditions. Work with production and maintenance teams to optimize machine parameters, cycle times, and scrap rates. Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for processing operations. Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing equipment utilization, throughput, and product yield using Lean concepts. Conduct root-cause analysis on process defects and collaborate with quality teams to implement corrective actions. Assist senior engineering staff with parameter documentation, process validation activities, and new equipment setups.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Plastics, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent hands-on processing experience. 1 to 3 years of hands-on process engineering or technical floor experience within a production environment; internship or co-op experience in manufacturing will be considered. Exposure to regulated or controlled manufacturing environments, such as medical device production cleanrooms or high-precision plastics processing environments (e.g., injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding, or extrusion). Strong analytical mindset with a desire to troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and process issues directly on the plant floor. Basic understanding of continuous improvement tools, scrap reduction strategies, and process standardization. Effective communication skills and a team-first attitude toward collaborating with shift supervisors, maintenance staff, and floor operators. H1
