Job Description

The Chemical Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, commissioning, and optimizing plating processes and production lines. This role supports new plating line startups, maintains process stability and chemical performance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and environmental compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the installation, setup, and commissioning of new plating lines Develop process parameters and operating procedures Optimize plating and metal finishing processes to improve efficiency and quality Manage chemical inventory and chemical control procedures Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NADCAP, and local environmental regulations Oversee wastewater treatment and chemical handling procedures Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for plating operations Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams Train operators and technicians on plating processes and procedures Qualifications Strong understanding of plating or metal finishing processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong project management and problem-solving abilities Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to train and support operators and technicians Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field preferred 3-7 years of experience in plating or metal finishing processes Experience with plating line startup, commissioning, or new process implementation preferred
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
