Process Technician Job Description The Process Technician sets up, operates, and maintains injection molding and facility equipment in a clean manufacturing environment. This role ensures efficient production by performing precise mold changes, operating injection molding presses and robotics, and carrying out consistent preventative maintenance tasks. Responsibilities Set up injection molding equipment, including Toyo and Arburg injection molding presses, to support production requirements. Set up and operate injection molding machinery within manufacturing cells to meet quality and output targets. Configure and adjust robotics associated with injection molding presses to ensure safe and efficient operation. Perform mold setups and changeovers, including installing, removing, and securing molds on the presses. Utilize sit-down and stand-up forklifts to safely move molds from storage racks to production equipment and back. Maintain and follow preventative maintenance programs on all facility equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Inspect parts and equipment as needed to verify quality and identify issues early. Read and interpret blueprints and related documentation to ensure correct setup and production specifications. Support continuous improvement of processes by maintaining organized work areas and following established procedures. Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure smooth operation of the production line during assigned shift. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience working with injection molding equipment or in a similar process technician role. Hands-on experience setting up and operating injection molding machinery, including mold setup and changeover. Ability to perform consistent preventative maintenance tasks on facility and production equipment. Experience operating Toyo and Arburg injection molding presses or similar equipment. Proficiency in using sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move molds and related equipment safely. Knowledge of plastic molding processes, including mold setup, injection mold operation, and machine operation in plastics manufacturing. Ability to perform inspection and quality checks on parts and equipment. Capability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in an injection mold manufacturing facility. Familiarity with robotics used in injection molding cells. Comfort working independently on a fixed overnight shift schedule. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Solid understanding of quality standards in plastics manufacturing. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a clean injection mold manufacturing facility operating on a 3rd shift schedule from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You work within manufacturing cells that include injection molding presses, robotics, and related equipment. The environment involves regular use of sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move molds and equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with a night-shift production team.
