Production Chemist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Production Chemist to join our team. This role involves hands-on chemical synthesis on a multi-kilo scale and requires meticulous attention to GMP documentation standards. Responsibilities Perform chemical synthesis on a multi-kilo scale following batch records. Maintain documentation standards to meet GMP requirements, including recording charges/transfers and documenting key observations. Set up, operate, and clean plant equipment such as reactors, centrifuges, filter dryers, and milling equipment. Participate in the staging of raw materials and manage the loading and unloading of intermediates and products. Read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively in group settings. Collaborate with Chemical Engineers to produce R D API. Essential Skills Experience in blending, GMP, GLP, and pharmaceutical quality processes. Proficiency in chemistry, batch record management, and API production. Knowledge of using reactors, centrifuges, chromatography, and wet chemistry. Competence in Microsoft Word and basic computer skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with SAP is a plus. Previous work in pharmaceutical manufacturing and with reactors is beneficial. Associates or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering preferred. Mechanical aptitude and basic math proficiency are necessary. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle chemicals safely with engineering controls. Work Environment This position operates in a small but growing company. The facility includes an R D lab connected to a QC lab, though interaction between labs is minimal. The production area is located across the parking lot. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
