1 Position Overview Our client is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer to join the Advanced Chemical Systems and Integration (ACSI) team within Research & Technology (R&T). This 12-month contract role will support research and development initiatives focused on advanced chemical reaction systems and emissions control technologies. The position offers an opportunity to apply expertise in catalysis and reaction engineering to solve real-world challenges in clean engine technologies. Required Education Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline. Required Qualifications Strong expertise in chemical kinetics, heterogeneous catalysis, and reaction engineering. Knowledge of engine emissions control technologies, particularly Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. Hands-on experience operating laboratory-scale catalytic reactors, including monolithic and/or packed-bed flow reactor systems. Experience in reactor design, construction, and experimental setup is highly preferred. Familiarity with catalyst characterization techniques, including: Electron Microscopy BET Surface Area Analysis Temperature-Programmed Desorption (TPD) Temperature-Programmed Reduction (TPR) Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Analysis X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary research environments. Demonstrated experience conducting research in academic, industrial, or government laboratory settings. Key Responsibilities Lead and resolve moderately complex technical challenges related to components, products, systems, and services. Execute established research processes and methodologies while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Support the development and testing of advanced chemical systems and emissions-control technologies. Coordinate activities with technicians, interns, and cross-functional team members as needed. Analyze experimental data, prepare technical reports, and maintain scientific documentation. Contribute to team objectives while demonstrating strong systems thinking, decision-making, and results-oriented execution.
