You support our team as Process Engineer- Adhesive Responsibilities Design and optimize coating/adhesive application processes (e.g., spray, curing, surface preparation) to enhance efficiency and quality. Research and test new coating materials, adhesives, and sealants for specific applications. Perform root cause analysis on coating defects, adhesion failures, or material-related issues. Create technical documentation, including SOPs and quality standards for coating systems. Oversee testing trials, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Improve the processability of existing parts, reduce scrap and reduce cost. Perform minor tool repairs. Work with machine shop to have new fixtures and components created for new jobs. Studies specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data and confers with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost. Duties include the responsibility for final part quality including the obligation to shut down processes producing discrepant material. Modifies tool designs according to trial or production service data to improve tool life or performance. Maintain the latest revision levels of external engineering standards applicable to this manufacturing location. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, coating processes, or adhesive technology: equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of coating application methods (e.g., spraying, dipping) and curing systems. Experience with adhesion testing and surface characterization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good problem solving skills. Mechanical aptitude Ability to work in a team setting. Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
