Job Description

Wyman-Gordon, located in Princeton, KY provides Nickel-based Extruded Powder Alloy for Military and Commercial Turbine Applications. The Princeton, KY facility offers Vacuum-Melt Atomizers, Lathes, and Equipment for Complete Billet Processing and Certification. This growing, profit center is part of a highly successful, multi-billion diversified manufacturer. Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC). Continuous Improvement Engineer In this capacity, the position will support/facilitate manufacturing process improvement efforts and plans. This position will also be responsible for leading/implementing cost reduction initiatives, introduce and implement Statistical Process Control techniques as well as associated measurement and control systems, assist and develop Training programs, and provide administrative and program support to Reengineering activities at the site.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develop plans, schedules, and budgets for projects to improve existing processes and to support the facility. Identify, prioritize and execute continuous improvement activities through standardization and consistency. Supports lean improvement process with techniques such as Kaizen. Identify cost savings through research or product requirements, manufacturing methods and equipment modifications.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in engineering (or other applied science field) 2-5 years' experience in manufacturing preferred Demonstrated ability in Process control/Process mapping Able to drive change in demanding atmosphere
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Strong communication and facilitation skills. Good computer skills (basic Microsoft software packages). Working knowledge of SPC tools and techniques. Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or as a team member. Good organizational and writing skills. US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
