Position:
E Ink is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented Chemical Process Project Engineer to join our growing team. We are seeking qualified candidates who are self-driven, looking to advance in their career and will be a high-impact player on our team, while looking to gain hands-on experience in the area of Chemical Process Project Engineering.
Summary or Scope:
The Chemical Process Project Engineer will lead the design, installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification of new chemical batch processes at E Ink's Billerica site. This role will ensure new processes are safely and effectively implemented in manufacturing while meeting quality, capacity, cost, and regulatory requirements. Following commissioning, the engineer will serve as the technical process owner, driving continuous improvement, troubleshooting, supporting
OSHA PSM
compliance, and developing future chemical processes and equipment solutions to meet long-term capacity targets.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification of new chemical batch processes, solvent recovery, and associated equipment Develop and maintain SOPs, commissioning plans, startup checklists, training materials, process documentation, and turnover packages for manufacturing Troubleshoot process and equipment issues in collaboration with plant personnel, facilities, and vendors to minimize downtime and improve manufacturing performance Support
OSHA PSM
compliance activities, including Process Hazard Analyses, Management of Change, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, process safety information, operating procedures, and related engineering documentation Plan and execute equipment and process trials for new technologies, including defining success criteria, operating limits, and providing scale-up recommendations Prepare project updates, technical reports, trial summaries, and improvement recommendations for internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process engineering, manufacturing engineering, project engineering, or a related role Experience designing, installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting chemical processing equipment in a manufacturing environment Experience with batch chemical processes, process scale-up, equipment specification, P&ID review, and manufacturing startup support Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze process data, identify root causes of problems, and implement sustainable corrective actions Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Preferences:
Experience working with hazardous chemicals, combustible materials, pressure systems, or other regulated chemical manufacturing environments Working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management requirements, including PHA, MOC, PSSR, process safety information, and operating procedure requirements Working knowledge of industrial codes and standards, including NFPA, NEC, ASME, and other applicable chemical processing or pressure equipment standards Experience with Auto
CAD, P&ID
development, equipment layout, process controls, or automation system design Experience supporting capital projects, vendor selection, FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification, and manufacturing turnover Experience with continuous improvement tools, root cause analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or statistical process analysis Familiarity with Wonderware, Ignition, Rockwell Automation, Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000, or similar process control and monitoring platforms.

Salary Range Disclosure :
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000, not including any variable pay. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other variable pay components. The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
