Job Description
CNC Machining Process Engineer D.W. Clark casts engineered components for critical infrastructure and defense. We are seeking a high-energy CNC Process Engineer who thrives at working hands-on with components and machines. This is an end-to-end manufacturing role designed for someone who designs, programs, and executes the process. Job Summary As our CNC Process Engineer, you will be the bridge between design and production. You will be responsible for developing efficient machining strategies, selecting tooling, and creating G-code. You will prove out your programs and setups both independently and alongside operators, and step in to keep production moving when the team needs additional support.
Expected hours:
45 - 50 per weekKey Responsibilities Process Development:
Design, document, and implement complete manufacturing processes for CNC machines and machined components.CAD/CAM Programming:
Utilize software to create precise toolpaths, ensuring optimized cycle times and tool life.Setup & Prove-Out:
Take full ownership of the first-article process. You will set up the machine, load tools, and run the initial parts to validate your methods. You will train and support operators to optimize production.Tooling & Fixturing:
Identify, source, and occasionally design custom work-holding or specialty tooling to improve efficiency.Production Support:
Act as the technical "anchor" on the floor. When production bottlenecks occur or coverage is needed, you will step in to operate machines and keep machines going.Continuous Improvement:
Monitor existing jobs to identify opportunities for cycle-time reduction, scrap minimization, and process stabilization.Troubleshooting:
Serve as the go-to expert for complex machining issues, from vibration/chatter problems to G-code errors.Qualifications & Skills Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in CAD/CAM software (experience with Siemens NX, Solidworks, and OnShape are a plus) Deep understanding of G-code and M-code. Strong knowledge of speeds, feeds, and material science (steel, stainless, nickel alloys).Hands-On Experience:
2+ years of experience in CNC setups, preferably with large turning and milling machinesEducation:
A degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering OR equivalent years of high-level, hands-on industry experience. We value skill and proven results above all else.Agility:
The ability to pivot from a long-term project to immediate production needs without hesitation.US Person Status Required:
