(FMEC) is seeking an initiative-taking Injection Molding Tryout Specialist to validate new tools, optimize processing parameters, and troubleshoot during sampling. Ensure high-quality, efficient production by establishing robust, scientific-based molding processes, setting up machinery, and training operators, with a strong focus on safety and technical precision.
Injection Molding Tryout Specialist Responsibilities Tool & Process Validation:
Conducts sampling and debugging of new, transferred, or repaired molds to meet customer specifications.
Process Optimization:
Develops scientific injection molding processes (e.g., pressure-set, gate freeze studies) to ensure consistent quality and cycle time efficiency.
Troubleshooting:
Analyzes defects (e.g., short shots, flashing, warpage) and adjusts machine parameters to resolve issues.
Setup & Operation:
Sets up injection molding machinery, including robots and auxiliary equipment.
Documentation:
Records process parameters, material data, and inspection results for quality control.
Collaboration:
works with tool room personnel, engineers, and sales teams to improve part design and tool functionality. Qualifications and skills
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in plastic injection molding, specifically in process setup and troubleshooting.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of thermoplastic materials, mold mechanics, and machine settings (hydraulic/electric presses).
Software/Tools:
Familiarity with data collection tools, Microsoft Office, and basic PLC knowledge.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma in plastics technology or engineering is often preferred.
Physical/Safety:
Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and adhere to LOTO (Lockout/Tag Out) procedures. Must be able to thrive in a high pace environment. Ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strive for continuous improvement. Good verbal & written communication skills.
