Seeking individual with process and tooling troubleshooting experience in a plastic molding environment to join a company producing parts with tight tolerances, undercuts, thin walls, and government regulated quality requirements. Support the Product Development group through:- Using mold-filling simulation software to evaluate and optimize new mold designs and evaluate issues with existing tooling.
- Calculating gate locations, clamp pressure requirements, injection speed, fill time, flow restrictions, shot size, injection pressure, pressure distribution, venting issues, temperatures, weld lines, etc.
- Analyzing packing, warpage, and cooling to predict and prevent distortions and sinks.
- Working with the product design team for manufacturability issues.
- Evaluating and advising machinists on mold and tooling fabrication.
