We're looking for motivated students to be part of a dynamic 11-week paid internship where you'll work on impactful projects and gain real-world experience, all while supporting our mission to improve health and improve lives. Interns will apply academic theory, develop processes based on specific discipline, conduct research and perform analysis on assigned projects for the Design Safety Basis department. Interns will, under direct supervision, perform basic analysis and design in support of the facility in relation to the design safety basis for the site. Provides engineering support in terms of calculations, walkdowns, and general configuration management control as assigned. The job functions will be performed with assistance from more experienced engineers. Our Hiring Process We are accepting applications NOW through November 1st, 2026. Program Summary May 2027 through August 2027 (11 weeks) internship program Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week for the duration of the program Work location: Eunice, NM Supplementary group learning sessions One on one mentoring Opportunities for presentations and high-level networking Compensation Paid Internship $21/hour paid bi-weekly Company sponsored Housing & Utilities Candidate Requirements / Eligibility Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor degree program for Physics, Nuclear, of Chemical Engineering majors and minors. Must have completed at least two years in a college / or university setting prior to the start of the internship program (for example, you must be starting either your Junior or Senior year) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain site access authorization and applicable security clearances. Strong safety mindset and willingness to work in an industrial environment.2 years of college courses completed Able to work ALL 11 weeks (May through August) of the internship program

General Office. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc. Responsible for the protection of confidential and proprietary information received during employment, including keeping information in strict confidence, exercising a reasonable degree of care to prevent disclosure to others, not disclosing or divulging either directly or indirectly information to others, and not using the information commercially or for any other purpose other than the performance of their duties for Urenco. Confidential information includes information and data of any kind concerning any matters affecting or relating to Urenco business or operations, including compensation, investigations, financial controls, etc. Essential Functions Will be responsible under direct supervision for performing analysis and design activities in support of facility operations and future projects. Performs one or more of the following: engineering calculations, chemical dose consequence calculations, dose and shielding calculations, nuclear criticality safety evaluations. Will provide improvement tools to the facility's Emergency Preparedness & Response Program such as postulated chemical or radiological dose rates for beyond design safety basis events. May perform an assessment and analysis of worker doses to recommend placement of future facility shielding. Helps resolve technical issues and provides general engineering and technical support activities using basic and advanced engineering principles.
