  • Scope of Position:
  • + Supports or leads continuous improvement activities, new product or process introductions and cost reduction projects.
+ Support manufacturing improvement initiatives, including fundamental understanding, variability reduction, defect reduction and process control improvement. + Improve existing manufacturing processes and capabilities with a focus on machining technology + Develop methods and processes to improve existing products. + Develop methods and processes to implement new die technology and processes. + Works with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering related problems. + Supports drive to fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives.
  • Day to
Day Responsibilities:
  • + Provide engineering expertise and leadership for process technologies within identified modules/work areas in the IDM facility + Manufacturing problem solving as needed in support of operations, including root cause identification and resolution.
+ Apply knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges. + Engages with Die Development teams to support new die introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training. + Trains operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes. + Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps. + Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects. + Trouble shoots material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action. + Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes. + Uses simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process improvement; Uses more sophisticated statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem solving and process/product improvement. + Assure quality and repeatability of processes and products. + Assures safety of operators and equipment and complies with safety and environmental regulations. + Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering. + Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives.
