Job Description

Internship Objective:
The internship builds strong technical, analytical, and communication skills through hands‑on work in material evaluation, formulation, extrusion, testing, design validation, and use of key R D tools. It also enables meaningful contributions to decking, and railing projects while developing core knowledge of building codes, performance standards, customer‑driven design, and cross‑functional collaboration.
What You'll Do:
General Responsibilities:
Work with team members on diverse projects and tasks. Perform research and analysis to aid project objectives. Create reports, presentations, and necessary documentation. Engage in team meetings and share ideas. Learn and implement industry best practices and company standards.
R D Responsibilities:
Assist with product development and improvement projects for decking, railing, and accessories. Perform lab and performance testing, including data collection and analysis. Support competitive benchmarking. Document and summarize technical projects. Present data to stakeholders. Collaborate with cross functional teams to support R D initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
Must be enrolled in a bachelor's program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028 (rising junior or rising senior). Demonstrated strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must be available to work full-time for 12 weeks during the summer of 2026. Must have reliable transportation to and from the work location. Must be authorized to work in the US.
Preferred Skills:
Target major: Plastics or Polymer Engineering, Materials Science or Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry Basic understanding of engineering principles, materials science, or product development concepts. Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data. Familiarity with laboratory testing, hands on experimentation, or prototyping (academic or internship experience). Extrusion experience is a plus. Strong communication and documentation skills with attention to detail. Demonstrated curiosity, problem solving mindset, and ability to work in a team environment.
