Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a high-volume chemical manufacturing plant. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of reactor and wet-process systems, improving production throughput and product quality, and implementing robust policies and procedures. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with practical plant experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and maintenance scheduling.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead process design, scale-up and optimization for reactor and wet-process chemistries to improve yield, throughput, and consistency.
Analyze production data to identify root causes of quality or volume shortfalls and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Develop, review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and process documentation to ensure compliance and operational consistency.
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for critical equipment.
Provide technical support during start-ups, shutdowns and process transitions to maintain safety and production targets.
Use AutoCAD and engineering drawings to review and specify equipment modifications, piping, and instrumentation changes.
Lead cross-functional investigations of production incidents, coordinate trials, and validate process changes to achieve sustained improvements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to reduce waste, lower costs and improve process reliability.
Mentor junior engineers and operators, providing training on process principles, troubleshooting techniques and safety practices.
Engage with regulatory and quality teams to support audits, change controls and ensure product specifications are met.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.7-10+ years of process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related heavy manufacturing environment, with demonstrated experience on reactor and wet-process systems.
Proven ability to solve complex production problems and lead root-cause investigations to closure.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing plant operations, equipment, and maintenance scheduling.
Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar engineering drawing tools and the ability to review and create technical drawings.
Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, and process safety management (PSM) principles.
Demonstrated track record driving improvements in production volume and product quality.
Familiarity with developing and implementing policies, procedures, SOPs and change control processes.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels.
