Job Description

OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Process Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2027 at our Greenwood Village, CO or Tulsa, OK office. This internship is with our Energy, Manufacturing, and Bioprocessing business unit that delivers process-intensive solutions in the industrial manufacturing, chemicals, refining, food & personal care, and advanced fuels markets. Merrick's Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands-on experience for students. Designed as a shorter-term, exploratory experience, internships allow students to apply what they're learning in school while gaining exposure to real projects, professional collaboration, and day-to-day life at an employee-owned company. The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2027.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Merrick Summer Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of Process/Chemical engineering by working on actual projects for our clients including P&ID drawings, process simulation and engineering calculations. The position requires collaboration with other engineering disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible. Must be currently enrolled and entering senior year of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school. Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program. Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiar with Microsoft Excel. Familiar with AspenPlus or Hysys. Exposure to PFD and P&ID drawing. Local candidates preferred.
