Job Description

As an Operations Engineer at PPG's Monroeville Research & Development, you will be a crucial part of our Specialty Synthesis Group (SSG) operations. The Operations Engineer will oversee the Plant's PLC system. Ensures operational uptime and support Plant projects, growth, and process improvements. You will work onsite in Monroeville, PA and will report to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, maintain, and modify existing PLC program. Help support and maintain process control systems, HMI, historian, iFix, and SCADA systems. Provide operational support to maintain system documentation, software backups. Actively participate in PSM (Process Safety Management), perform MOC's (Management of Change) when needed. Provide real-time engineering operational support including control system, instrumentation, and process equipment issues.
Project work:
Project management controls work and operational requirements when required. Identify areas of improvement for automation, safety, and operational improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) Controls experience with PLCs, SCADA, Historian, Instrumentation, industrial controls. Chemical and manufacturing experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and high level of safety awareness. Attention to detail and documentation skills and excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
