This role assists with data collection, process evaluations, project coordination, troubleshooting, documentation, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineer works under the guidance of management and experienced engineers while gaining hands-on experience in plant operations, project execution, and regulatory compliance. - Gain exposure to key business functions through departmental rotations, hands-on training, and shadowing experiences.
- OSHA 30-hour Safety Certification Key Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering projects.
- Evaluate plant processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, recovery, throughput, and quality.
- Assist with planning, budgeting, scheduling, and executing capital and improvement projects.
- Work with operations to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and consultants under management direction.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for alignment with company and project requirements.
- Support equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and related personnel training.
- Monitor project progress and provide status updates to management.
- Support compliance with environmental, safety, regulatory, and OSHA requirements.
- Assist with SOPs, work instructions, and training materials for plant personnel.
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports on plant performance, efficiency, and project outcomes.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Frequent Travel Required. Somerset, PA; New Galilee, PA, and East Palestine, OH Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline. Experience
- 3-5 years of process engineering, project engineering, internship, co-op, or related experience in manufacturing, coal processing, mining, mineral processing, aggregates, or other industrial operations required.
- Exposure to capital projects, plant operations, or equipment commissioning through coursework, internships, co-ops, or prior work experience. Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of process improvement, troubleshooting, or data analysis methods.
- Familiarity with mass balance concepts, process design principles, and equipment sizing.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance requirements, or willingness to learn applicable standards.
- Ability to assist with project coordination, schedule tracking, budget tracking, and documentation.
