Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Process Engineer specializing in Battery Materials and Hydro-Metallurgy to drive innovation and excellence in our advanced materials development. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead complex process engineering projects, optimize manufacturing workflows, and contribute to cutting-edge research in sustainable energy storage solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in chemical and mechanical engineering, with hands-on experience in laboratory testing, process design, and product development within the battery materials sector. Duties Lead the design, development, and optimization of hydro-metallurgical processes for battery material extraction and refining, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. Oversee project scheduling to meet milestones for process scale-up, pilot testing, and commercialization phases. Collaborate with research teams to translate laboratory findings into scalable manufacturing processes through detailed process flow diagrams using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD tools. Develop and implement quality control protocols aligned with ASME codes & standards to ensure product consistency and reliability. Conduct comprehensive data collection and analysis during process trials to identify opportunities for improvement in yield, purity, and cost reduction. Manage fabrication activities related to process equipment design, including plastics blow molding and injection molding components, ensuring adherence to mechanical engineering principles. Provide mentorship to engineering staff on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), manufacturing best practices, and laboratory techniques. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards while supporting research & development initiatives for new battery chemistries and materials. Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams on product development projects from concept through prototype testing, emphasizing innovation in plastics fabrication and chemical processing. Skills Extensive experience with project scheduling tools to manage multiple concurrent process engineering projects efficiently. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CAD software for designing process equipment layouts and mechanical components. Strong background in manufacturing processes including plastics blow molding, injection molding, and fabrication techniques. Laboratory experience with chemical analysis, data collection, quality control testing, and process validation. Mechanical knowledge encompassing mechanical engineering principles relevant to process equipment design and maintenance. Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise mechanical drawings and component specifications.
